Chapter 25: The Luna’s Vow
The Black Moon Kingdom celebrated for seven days.
There were flowers everywhere.
Music filled the valley.
Children ran through the streets.
The war was becoming a memory.
But I still woke sometimes expecting to hear the Shadow Wolf.
It never came.
One night, Kael found me on the palace balcony.
“You can’t sleep.”
“Neither can you.”
He smiled.
“I was waiting for you.”
“For what?”
He reached into his pocket.
A small silver ring.
My heart stopped.
“Kael.”
“I know we already have a mate bond.”
He took my hand.
“But I want something you can choose.”
He lowered himself onto one knee.
“Elara Vale.”
My eyes filled with tears.
“Will you choose me?”
I laughed through my tears.
“You’re asking me?”
“Yes.”
“After everything?”
“Especially after everything.”
I knelt beside him.
“I choose you.”
He smiled.
“Forever?”
“Forever.”
He placed the ring on my finger.
Then he kissed me.
The bond between us glowed.
Not because fate demanded it.
Because we chose it.
